Easy-to-Peel Boiled Eggs

This method works. Period. Stop searching for a new easy way to boil and peel eggs and follow my directions.  Many thanks to Kirsten for telling me her secret of cracking the egg on the bottom—or the bigger end of the egg.  And, resist the urge to cool the eggs.  You might get a gray shadow on your eggs, but it doesn’t affect the flavor. Put on a pair of clean kitchen gloves and peel them while they are still hot. I am not kidding when I say that the shells literally slip off.  I now have egg salad and deviled eggs back on my rotation!  Thank you Kirsten!

Boil and peel hard-cooked eggs using my simple method for “easy-to-peel eggs.”

Fill a heavy-duty 4 quart pot with cold water.  Gently place eggs in the pot.  Bring the water to a boil and cover the pot.  Turn the heat off and let sit in the hot water for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Remove the pot with the eggs in it from the stove and place in the sink.  One by one, leaving the eggs in the water that they were boiled in, peel the eggs.  Crack and peel eggs by cracking the bottom of the egg and slipping the eggshell off.

Rinse in the hot water to remove any small shell fragments.  You will be shocked at how fast this method is and how foolproof.
