Prepare these in advance, or set out cut fruit in bowls along with some skewers and encourage guests to assemble their own kabobs.

Grilled Fruit Kabobs

Serving Size – 4 people


Select some or all of the following fresh fruits:
1/2 pineapple, rind and core discarded, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 mango, skin and pit discarded, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 peach, skin on, pitted, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 banana, peel on, cut into 1/2-inch slices
8 strawberries, stems removed
8 seedless grapes (whole)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons peanut or olive oil (To coat grill and prevent stickage)
1 pint coconut ice cream (optional)
4 bamboo or metal skewers


Skewer fruit and sprinkle generously with sugar.

Rub down grill grate with a rag dipped in the oil. Then grill kabobs for 8 minutes directly over hot coals, rotating 1/4 turn every 2 minutes or so, or until fruit starts to caramelize and brown slightly. Serve as is or over ice cream.
