BlackRedGrillFriendsLogoTo me grilling is about FUN and FUNCTION. My line of Grill Friends® and Kitchen Friends™ cooking and grilling tools combine fun, contemporary colors and features with functional designs. After 15 years of grilling and cooking for a living I’ve learned a thing or two about what does and doesn’t work. When I design these pieces, I make sure that each bugsigitem in my line will work as well — around the grill or in the kitchen — for the new cook as it does for me. Each piece is both FUNCTIONAL and FUN because when it doesn’t function, you dont have fun!

New SuperGrater™ Makes Short Work of Chopping Garlic
Once you see it in action, you won’t be able to live without it!

“Nearly everyone loves the flavor of garlic and it enhances most savory dishes, but nearly everyone hates to chop it! Many a home cook—and a few professionals—have resorted to buying already chopped garlic just to avoid the task. Even smart cooks who know that jarred chopped garlic isn’t recommended, buy it because it is quick and easy which wins out many a time,” says Elizabeth Karmel, creator of www.GirlsattheGrill.com and the new SuperGrater. With the introduction of the newGrill Friends™ SuperGrater, anyone and everyone can have fresh garlic at their fingertips with a flick of the wrist. It is super simple to use and to clean.

Add a drop of water or olive oil to the center of the grater. Hold a peeled garlic clove between your thumb and forefinger, and rotate your wrist in a circle to grate the garlic. The contiguous pattern in the center of the dish is what “grates” the garlic so quickly. In a couple turns of the wrist, you’ll have perfect “chopped” or pureed garlic. When you try this on a traditional ceramic grater, the smooth area between the bumps stops the grating process, so it takes a lot longer and is harder to use. The SuperGrater extracts the sweet tender flesh of the garlic clove and releases all of the aromatic oils without any bitter residue.

The grated garlic has the added benefit of being the same size which allows it to be stirred or distributed more evenly into sauces, marinades or any recipe. The SuperGrater is easy to clean, hold it under running water to rinse the garlic residue away or use a sponge and a little soap to wipe it clean. It is also dishwasher safe and the 5-inch saucer shape fits easily on the top shelf of most dishwashers. The SuperGrater can also be used dry for nutmeg, Parmesan cheese and chocolate.

It is gift-packaged in a white box with a clear lid so consumers can see what it looks like without opening the lid. The back label has pictorial instructions of the three steps for grating and copy that explains how the SuperGrater is used. It comes in two colors, a yellow-wash with an orange-red rim and a yellow-wash with a blue rim. The colors tie into the Flame and Summer colorways of the Grill Friends™ Ceramics line. Suggested retail for the SuperGrater is $9.99.

The SuperGrater are available nationally at kitchen, gourmet and housewares stores and online at www.BBQPROSHOP.com and www.laprimashops.com.
